Chalk board with the words Location Location Location in.

At Blackmore Homes, we have a number of property developments across the country. Here are few of the more affluent areas in the UK we operate in, starting in the capital:

London

London will always be the most expensive and affluent place to live in the UK. Property prices over the past 10 years have soared to astronomical levels. Small, one bedroom apartments in the centre have reached and surpassed the £1m mark. Unsurprisingly, the most expensive areas in London are those which have traditionally always been affluent, such as Kensington, Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Notting Hill and West Brompton. There have, however, been an increasing number of up and coming boroughs and districts that have seen their property prices soar, such as Brixton, Elephant and Castle, and Peckham.

The Home Counties

The most affluent villages and towns outside of London are still relatively close to the capital. The county of Surrey has recently topped the charts of having an average £1m price tag on properties, with Virginia Water becoming the first ‘Million Pound Town’. In addition to towns such as Esher, Cobham and East Molesey in Surrey, towns in Buckinghamshire also have high property prices. Henley on Thames which sits in Oxfordshire, but just on the border of Buckinghamshire, was made famous by the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta rowing event, and due to its proximity to London, has become one of the UK’s most affluent property locations.

North of the border

Edinburgh is a city that has seen huge rises in property prices within the past decade. The city has 14 of the 20 most expensive streets in Scotland, and with a strong financial industry, has continued to thrive and become increasingly affluent.

The Golden Triangle

The Golden Triangle is an area in Cheshire defined by three towns: Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Prestbury. It’s renowned for very expensive properties and is home to some of the country’s wealthiest people. It is home to a huge number of Premier League footballers and the TV show, ‘The Real Housewives of Cheshire’. Only 14 miles outside of Manchester, Alderley Edge houses over 300 multi-millionaires and is one of the most affluent places outside of London.

Generally speaking, the most affluent property locations in the UK sit either in London, or within close proximity. However, there are exceptions, with some properties in the north rivalling the affluence seen near the capital.
